BCH Rises 3.4% to $284: Bybit Adds 15.5% OI, Funding Calm

BCH Recovers to $284 After a $264.65 Low
Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is trading at $284.15 at the time of writing, up 3.4% over the past 24 hours. Binance quotes $284.15 with a 24-hour range of $264.65 to $286.06; OKX shows $283.80 with a range of $264.50 to $285.70. The two venues agree closely, so the move is real and broad rather than a single-exchange anomaly. The recovery started from the $264 area hit earlier in the session, and price has now reclaimed the level it traded at before the recent drawdown.
Open Interest Rebuilds to $322.5M, Bybit Leads
Total BCH open interest stands at $322.5 million, up 3.23% in 24 hours. Bybit is the aggressor: its BCH OI rose 15.47% in a day and 20.24% in the last four hours alone. Binance remains the largest pool at $118.6 million, a 36.8% share, but only added 1.02%, and OKX grew 2.32%. MEXC chipped in another 5.64%. The pattern is a rotation toward Bybit as the venue where new positioning is forming, not a uniform build across every exchange.
Funding Stays at Baseline: Longs Aren't Crowded
Funding rates sit at 0.01% per eight hours on Binance, OKX and Bybit. The volume-weighted average is around 0.0098%, barely above neutral. That matters because price is up 3.4% while the cost of holding a long has not moved. In a genuine squeeze, funding usually spikes first and liquidations follow. Here neither has happened, which points to fresh longs entering at a reasonable cost instead of late-chasing leverage.
Quiet Liquidations Mean No Squeeze Fuel Yet
The coin does not appear on the top-30 liquidation list today, so its 24-hour total sits below roughly $1.1 million across all venues. With price up and leverage building, the absence of a liquidation cascade is the cleaner signal: nobody has been forced out, and the move is being absorbed by new money. The risk is the flip side. If funding starts climbing toward 0.05% or above, the setup starts to look crowded, and a sharp pullback would hit the longs who just entered.
What to Watch
For traders, the key levels are the $286 area, where price stalled earlier, and the $264 low as support. If Bybit keeps adding open interest at this pace while funding stays flat, the build looks healthy. If funding accelerates, treat the recent longs as the fragile part of the market. The recovery is real, but it is still a leverage story in progress rather than a completed squeeze.
