BTC ETFs Net +$174.6M: 3-Day Run, $1.03B Week, Price $79.5K

BTC ETF flows stay green for a third day
US spot BTC ETFs recorded a net inflow of $174.6M on the US trading session that closed Sep 4, lifting assets under management to $101.25B. That extends the positive run to three sessions after the $236.5M outflow on Sep 1, and leaves the rolling seven-day total at $1.03B. The pace cooled from the day before, when funds added $730.9M in the largest single-day take since January 14, but the streak itself carries the signal: sellers showed up early in the week, and ETF buyers kept absorbing.
ETH funds post back-to-back inflows
ETH ETFs added another $26.5M on Sep 4, following the $141.4M inflow on Sep 3 that ended a three-week outflow spell. AUM now sits at $15.57B, just below the record $15.92B set earlier in the week, with a seven-day net of $555M. Two positive sessions in a row after weeks of small red prints is the cleanest sign yet that institutional appetite for ETH exposure has turned rather than bounced.
SOL is the odd one out
SOL ETFs flipped to a $5.2M outflow on Sep 4 with AUM at $1.41B, the only major line in the red that day. Its seven-day net stays positive at $85M, so this reads as profit-taking after SOL's recent run rather than a structural exit. The split is informative: fresh money is concentrating in BTC and ETH vehicles while SOL funds consolidate near their highs.
Price dipped 2% and buyers did not flinch
Spot BTC drifted down to about $79,500 over the session, roughly 2% lower after testing $81,400 and touching $78,600 intraday. ETF flow data normally lags price action, so a net inflow on a down day is worth reading carefully: allocations look sized on dips rather than chasing momentum. If BTC holds the $78K to $80K band while inflows continue, the setup leans toward position building instead of distribution.
What to watch next
Total AUM across the 35 active US crypto ETF products sits at $118.2B. The open question is whether the $1.03B weekly pace carries into next week or fades the way the August run did, when $606M and $337M days were followed by a $201.8M outflow on Aug 28. Watch the first two sessions of the coming week. Daily inflows above $100M would confirm the bid has legs; a drop toward zero would mark this week as a squeeze-driven burst.
