DOGE's 78% Long Crowd Meets a 27 RSI: $7.6M Liquidated as OI Drains 3.8%

Dogecoin is caught between two forces that rarely coexist for long: the most crowded long positioning among major memes — 77.8% of accounts, rising to 82.9% on Bitget — and a 4-hour RSI of 27.3 that says the selling is nearly exhausted. DOGE fell 3.3% to $0.0789 over 24 hours while open interest drained 3.8% to just over $1.0 billion.
News context: Wu Blockchain noted in its weekly roundup that Bitwise moved to liquidate its Dogecoin ETF — a structural demand headwind for a token that leans on narrative flows.
The liquidation tape is 95% one-sided
Of $8.0 million liquidated in 24 hours, $7.6 million came from longs across 1,188 events — a 95% skew. The largest prints came at $0.07867 on Binance and $0.07930 on Bybit, essentially at current levels, with an OKX long dying higher at $0.08098. Every major venue's book contracted: OKX -5.2%, Bybit -4.6%, Bitget -3.6%, Binance -3.2% to $218.8 million. Unlike SHIB, where OI grew through the drop, DOGE leverage is genuinely leaving the market.
Funding says the market can't pick a side
The funding board is split nearly down the middle — 8 of 23 venues negative, with Bitget at -0.012% and Bybit at -0.0082% while Binance holds positive at +0.0021%. Taker flow is unambiguous though: just 39.5% buys overall, 36.0% on Binance. Aggressive money is selling DOGE, the crowd is holding long, and the funding market reflects the stalemate rather than resolving it.
The washout math
Our read: DOGE is close to the point where oversold mechanics overwhelm crowd positioning — but not there yet. A 27 RSI with 78% long accounts is a knife-catch setup: bounces will come, but each one hands the trapped crowd an exit, capping upside near $0.081 where the last OKX long broke. The scenario that produces a durable low needs the long-account ratio to bleed into the high 60s — voluntary de-risking — or a final flush through $0.0787 that forcibly clears it toward the $0.075 round level. Watching Binance taker buys is the shortcut: a sustained recovery through 45% would signal the aggressive sellers are done and make the oversold bounce tradeable. Until then DOGE is a market where the patient get better prices than the brave.
