DOGE Squeeze Over: Liq Cools to $5.2M, OI Holds $1.32B

DOGE's $43.9M long squeeze has been fully digested
DOGE liquidations fell to $5.17 million in the past 24 hours, down roughly 88% from the $43.9 million wipeout reported a day earlier, when 88% of the forced exits were longs and open interest dropped 9%. The squeeze is done. Longs still account for 76% of today's smaller total, but the volume of forced exits is a fraction of what it was, and the 1,105 liquidation orders in the window point to scattered positions rather than a coordinated flush.
Open interest stops shrinking as funding turns positive
Open interest across DOGE perpetuals steadied at $1.32 billion, up 0.5% in 24 hours after falling 9% during the squeeze. Funding is positive on every major venue: 0.01% per 8 hours on Binance, OKX, Bybit and Gate, and near zero on Hyperliquid. That combination, flat OI plus positive funding, means leverage is being rebuilt at a normal cost instead of being punished. The market is not positioning for another violent move in either direction, at least not yet.
The OI map changed while everyone watched the price
The interesting shift is who holds the positions. Gate now carries $287 million of DOGE open interest, or 21.7% of the total, up 3.9% in a day, overtaking Binance, which slipped 1.05% to $258 million. MEXC added 14.5% to $108 million, while OKX cut 6.65%. Binance's share of DOGE perps is no longer the reference point; the marginal longs are being built on mid-tier venues, which tends to make liquidation cascades harder to read from a single exchange feed.
What the flat tape means for the next move
The token trades at $0.0926, up 0.4%, inside a 24-hour range of $0.0902 to $0.0945. The setup to watch: if open interest keeps climbing while price stays pinned below $0.0945, fresh longs are accumulating quietly and the next squeeze risk builds. If price breaks the high with funding already positive, the move is more likely to be paid for by shorts. Either way, the violent deleveraging of the past two days is not repeating in the current numbers.
