ENA Open Interest Jumps 11.3% as Daily RSI Hits 70.3: Longs Crowd In

Ethena is flashing a classic overbought-risk mix: ENA is at $0.2648 after gaining 7.2%, daily RSI has reached 70.3, and aggregate open interest has risen 11.3% to approximately $709.0M. The one-hour and four-hour RSI readings remain more moderate at 53.4 and 56.2, so the immediate issue is not a market-wide momentum collapse; it is whether a heavily leveraged daily move can attract fresh buyers without triggering a flush. Recent institutional coverage has presented ENA as a long-term upside story tied to token economics and USDe adoption, but the derivatives tape is focused on crowded positioning now.

Leverage is rising into the daily RSI threshold

The open-interest expansion is broad but uneven. Binance holds $148.5M, or 20.9% of tracked ENA OI, after a 7.7% daily increase. Bybit carries $121.6M, or 17.2%, with OI up 12.0%, while Gate has $93.0M, or 13.1%, after a 16.1% jump. Those three venues alone represent the largest visible concentrations, and their four-hour changes are telling: Binance is down 0.8%, OKX is down 4.2%, and Bybit is down 2.7%, while Gate is still up 1.4%. That combination suggests some short-term de-risking at major books even as the broader twenty-four-hour leverage build remains strong. Volume has also increased 58.9%, giving the rally real participation but raising the cost of a reversal if liquidity thins.

Funding looks calm, but dispersion is a warning

The headline funding rate picture is not aggressively bullish across major venues. Binance, Bybit, Gate, OKX and Bitget each show 0.0% when rounded to one decimal place, while Coinbase is the positive outlier at 0.2%. CoinEx is the negative outlier at -0.4%, with Kraken at 0.0% negative after rounding. This dispersion matters more than the apparently neutral major-venue average: traders are paying a premium for longs on one venue while shorts are still favored on another. It argues against treating the daily RSI reading as proof of a synchronized long squeeze, but it also shows that the move lacks a clean, uniform derivatives confirmation. A crowded trade can remain supported while funding is muted if leverage is distributed across venues with opposing flows.

Accounts lean long, while takers disagree

The long/short ratio data shows that accounts are net long overall at 62.6%. Bybit is the most stretched among the listed account books, with 68.3% long, followed by Bitget at 67.1% and Binance at 64.4%. OKX is much closer to balance at 53.3% long. The active taker data creates the sharper warning: Binance takers are 58.9% short versus 41.1% long, while Gate takers are 91.1% long. In other words, passive account positioning is long, but aggressive flow is split dramatically by venue. That divergence can produce a squeeze in either direction, yet the daily RSI and OI combination leaves long holders more exposed if buyers fail to defend the latest breakout.

Liquidation structure reinforces that asymmetry. Over twenty-four hours, long liquidations reached $739.9K against $1.1M in short liquidations, but the four-hour window reversed decisively: $172.4K of longs were liquidated versus $39.9K of shorts. The one-hour window was small at $1.6K total, while the twelve-hour window still favored shorts at $884.1K versus $654.1K for longs. The largest recorded event was a $116.7K short liquidation at $0.2857, followed by long liquidations of $88.3K at $0.2699 and $51.7K at $0.2642. This places the current price close to a known long-liquidation reference rather than safely above it.

Verdict: ENA is overbought on the daily timeframe, and the preferred near-term bias is to fade an unconfirmed extension rather than chase the 7.2% advance. The key defense is $0.2642, while $0.2699 is the first nearby liquidation reference and $0.2857 is the upside squeeze level. With OI near $709.0M, the overbought view is invalidated if ENA holds above $0.2857 while OI expands beyond that level and short liquidations again dominate the four-hour structure.
