META +3.9% to $600: OKX OI Jumps 21.6%, Bitget Cuts 5%

META climbs to the $600 zone on light leverage
META perpetual contracts traded at $599.7 when checked, up 3.9% over 24 hours, with the session high touching $600.87. The two main reference venues agree closely: Binance prints $599.77 and OKX prints $599.49, a spread near 0.05%. Aggregate 24-hour volume across exchanges came to $119M, and Binance alone moved $64.2M of that.
The rally runs against a quiet crypto tape. BTC is hovering near $77.7K, up 0.2%, while ETH sits around $2,400, down 0.6%. When a stock perp gains 4% and the majors barely move, demand tends to be stock-specific rather than crypto-beta, and the order book data supports that reading.
OKX adds 21.6% to its book while Bitget trims
Open interest on the perp rose to $22.83M, up 4.4% in 24 hours, but the flows are split across venues. OKX grew its book 21.6% to $4.2M, the fastest build among the larger exchanges. Bybit added 6.7%, KuCoin 6.2%, and Coinbase 11%. Bitget moved the other way, cutting 5% to $5.89M, yet it still holds the top share at 25.8%.
The divergence matters for reading the move. When the leading venue trims while second-tier venues add, positions are rotating instead of expanding uniformly. OKX now holds an 18.4% share, close to Bybit's 17.7%, so the ranking behind Bitget is tightening.
Funding near zero means longs pay nothing yet
Funding rates across venues are flat. Binance, Bybit, Bitget and Gate all show 0%, KuCoin prints 0.01%, and WhiteBIT is slightly negative at -0.01%. For a contract that just rose 3.9%, zero funding is unusual. It suggests the new positions were opened without a crowd of leveraged longs piling in, so no premium is baked into holding the trade.
That keeps the setup cleaner than a typical squeeze. A move without a funding spike can be driven by spot demand or delta-neutral desks, and it tends to leave less forced selling behind if price turns.
What to watch around $600
The 24-hour high sits at $600.87. A close above that with rising open interest would confirm the build is still absorbing supply. The tells to follow are OKX's OI change and funding: if funding flips positive while OKX keeps adding at this pace, the move is getting crowded; if OI stalls while price holds, the rally is running on spot. Bitget's book is the other signal, because a return to adding there would mean the largest venue is back on board.
For traders holding the perp, flat funding is a small tailwind, but the venue divergence argues for watching the high rather than assuming momentum. Data as of 11:20 Beijing time on September 3, covering Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget, Gate, KuCoin and other major exchanges.
