OP +12% to $0.097: OI Up 12.4%, Funding Flat at 0.01%

OP Leads the Pack as BTC Goes Quiet
OP traded at $0.0973 at the snapshot, up 12.3% over 24 hours, while BTC hovered near $77,960 with a 0.27% change and ETH sat at $2,444, down 0.05%. The move carried the token from a 24-hour low of $0.086 to a high of $0.0993, a 15.4% intraday swing that put it among the day's top gainers. Binance and OKX both printed the same $0.0973 mark, so the breakout is broad-based rather than a single thin order book.
What stands out is what did not happen. OP's liquidation flow stayed tiny all day, with no position in the top liquidation ranks, and funding rates across Binance, OKX and Bybit sat at 0.01%, the default level. This is a rally built on demand, not on squeezed shorts.
Open Interest Adds $7M, Binance Leads the Build
Total open interest in the token's perpetuals rose 12.4% to $63.2 million. Binance added the most in dollar terms, up 21% to $16.8 million, and now holds 26.6% of the market. Gate, KuCoin and Kraken all posted 20% or higher OI gains in the same window, so the increase is spread across venues.
The structure has one wrinkle. MEXC is the second-largest venue with $12.8 million, a 20.2% share, but its 4-hour OI change was -37%, meaning a chunk of positions opened earlier was closed in the last four hours. Hyperliquid was flat at -0.5%. So the build is happening mostly on Binance and mid-tier exchanges, not on the perp-heavy venues that usually front-run squeezes.
Cold Funding Means This Is Not a Squeeze
Funding across the major exchanges is pinned at 0.01%, effectively neutral. In a typical squeeze, funding climbs to 0.05% or higher as shorts cover and liquidations spike. The token shows neither. The 24-hour liquidation picture was minimal, and shorts paid almost nothing.
That combination, price up 12% with OI up 12% and funding flat, points to fresh long positioning at low leverage cost rather than reflexive short covering. It also means the rally has not built the kind of crowded long book that a pullback would punish.
What to Watch Next
The 24-hour high of $0.0993 is the obvious resistance. If the token breaks it with OI still climbing, the move has room to extend. If funding starts printing 0.05% or higher while price stalls, that would signal late longs piling in and raise the odds of a sharp flush. For now the setup looks healthier than the average altcoin breakout, but the MEXC 4-hour unwind is a reminder that leverage can leave just as fast as it arrives.
