PUMP -9.1%: The Squeeze Reversed Into a Long Flush

PUMP traded at $0.004771 on Binance at the time of writing, down 9.1% in 24 hours, with OKX showing $0.004774, nearly identical. The move came right after the token's earlier squeeze higher, and the liquidation tape tells the rest of the story: $4.18 million was wiped out across the network in the last 24 hours, and 80.8% of that was long positions. Short sellers paid the bill on the way up; now long traders are paying on the way down.

The 24-hour range sits between $0.005411 and $0.004551, so PUMP has already round-tripped a good chunk of last week's gains. The token is not crashing in a vacuum, the leverage that powered the rally is being pulled out underneath it.

Open Interest Sheds 7.9% to $399M, Binance Leads the Exit

Aggregate open interest across 16 venues fell 7.9% in 24 hours to $399 million. Binance, the largest pool at 25.4% of the total, cut its OI by 12.4%, and OKX trimmed 12.1%. Bitget and Gate also reduced positions, down 11.6% and 17.5% respectively. The only venue adding size was Backpack, up 15.3%, but its $1.15 million pool is too small to offset the outflows.

Shrinking OI alongside a falling price is a textbook deleveraging pattern. Positions are being closed rather than rolled, which means the flush is coming from forced exits, not fresh shorts piling in.

Funding Rates Cool to 0.005% After the Squeeze

Funding across major venues has settled near zero. Binance, OKX and most others show 0.005% per interval, while Hyperliquid sits at 0.00125% and Backpack is slightly negative at -0.006%. During the earlier squeeze, shorts were paying meaningful funding as price ran up; that pressure is gone. Neutral funding at a lower price signals neither side is confident enough to press the trade.

For traders watching meme leverage, the setup matters: when funding normalizes while OI keeps falling, the next leg usually needs fresh catalyst rather than positioning alone.

What to Watch Next

The key level to track is the $0.00455 low from the current 24-hour window. A break below it with OI still shrinking would point to more forced selling; reclaiming $0.0050 with funding turning positive would suggest buyers are stepping back in. Until one of those happens, PUMP looks like a coin in position unwinding rather than accumulation.
