SKR Bounces 16% Off $0.0189 Low: OI +15.1% to $30.1M

SKR, the token behind Solana Mobile's Seeker phone, climbed back to $0.0220 on Binance, up 13.9% over 24 hours and roughly 16% above the day's low of $0.0189. The move stands out because Bitcoin slipped about 2% in the same window. What matters for traders is what happened underneath: open interest across perpetual venues rebuilt 15.1% to $30.1M, yet funding rates stayed negative almost everywhere.
SKR bounce comes with a quiet OI rebuild
Seeker perps traded $0.0219 to $0.0221 across Binance, Bybit, Gate and KuCoin at the snapshot, with the Binance 24-hour range spanning $0.0189 to $0.0248. Volume was heavy for a token this size, with Binance spot alone printing about $82M in 24 hours. Total open interest rose to $30.1M after earlier unwind, a +15.1% change that signals fresh position building rather than a short-covering blip on flat books. Binance holds $8.58M of that, a 28.5% share, while Bybit has moved ahead with $9.24M and a 30.7% share, up 19.4% over 24 hours.
Bybit leads as KuCoin and MEXC pile in
The venue split tells a clearer story than the headline bounce. Bybit is now the largest OI venue for SKR after adding 19.4% in a day, edging past Binance, whose own OI was basically flat at +1.9% with a 6% dip over the last four hours. KuCoin added 67.9% to reach $3.43M and MEXC jumped 51.9% to $2.0M, both smaller books growing fast. Hyperliquid went the other way, cutting 7.5% to $2.7M. The pattern suggests new leverage is flowing in through the mid-tier venues while the largest books stay cautious.
Funding is still negative after the rally
Funding rates have not flipped positive even after the bounce. Binance prints about -0.026% per hour, MEXC -0.025%, Gate and KuCoin around -0.017%, and Hyperliquid -0.015%. Bybit sits near flat at +0.001%. Negative funding after a 14% pop means shorts are still willing to pay to hold positions, which leaves fuel for a squeeze if price keeps climbing, but it also says leveraged traders are not convinced the low is in. A genuine trend shift usually shows funding turning positive as longs crowd in; that has not happened yet.
What to watch on Seeker perps
Resistance sits at the $0.0248 session high, with the $0.0255 area from the wider 24-hour tape as the next test. On the downside, $0.0189 is the line to respect; a break would put the token back near its post-unwind lows. Two signals decide the setup: whether Bybit's OI lead holds or Binance retakes control, and whether funding finally turns positive on a continued climb. If OI keeps rising while funding stays negative, the short side is adding into strength, and any upside move could run faster than the OI growth suggests. SKR trades about 62% below its January high of $0.0574, so this bounce is still playing out inside a longer downtrend rather than a fresh uptrend.
