96.4% Win-Rate Whale Bleeds $971K on 7-Position Book

Who Is This 96.4% Win-Rate Whale

The Hyperliquid address 0x469e9a7f624b04c24f0e64edf8d8a277e6bf58a5 closed 589 trades over the past five days and won 568 of them. That 96.4% win rate sits on top of $4.55M in realized profit, against only $31.5K in fees paid. The account has never been liquidated in 3,011 total fills. It carries the smart_money, high_winrate, and whale labels in the same database that tracks Hyperliquid's top performers.

Right now the book is not as clean as the record. Seven open positions add up to $29.37M in notional value, and the unrealized number reads negative: -$971K. The margin is about $5.88M, so the open loss is roughly 16.5% of account value, not enough to threaten the account but enough to show that even the best short-term record on Hyperliquid can sit on a losing book.

The 20x SOL Long Drains $644K

The single biggest drag is a 100,000 SOL long opened at $102.04 on 20x leverage. At the time of the snapshot, SOL traded around $95.85, which puts the position about 6% below entry. Unrealized PnL on that leg alone is -$643,968. At $9.56M it is the largest position on the book and accounts for two thirds of the total loss.

SOL broke above $100 earlier this week and the whale chased it, but the coin has since given back the breakout. The entry price sits right at the recent swing zone, so this is a bet on SOL reclaiming $102 rather than a momentum chase from current levels. The position has no visible liquidation price, which suggests the account runs cross margin with enough buffer that the exchange does not display a single-coin liquidation line.

Shorts Split: ETH Wins, XRP and HYPE Bleed

The only green position on the board is an ETH short. The whale sold 1,571 ETH at $2,487.64 with 25x leverage, and with ETH at $2,444 the trade shows +$72,826. That is the payoff for shorting a rally that stalled near $2,533.

The other two shorts are underwater. A 5,000,000 XRP short entered at $1.3288 is -$180,406 with XRP back at $1.3759, and a 50,018 HYPE short at $79.86 is -$61,082 with HYPE at $81.13. Combined, the three shorts net out to roughly -$168K, meaning the long side carries almost the entire loss.

Liquidation Distance Stays Wide

Even at 20x-25x leverage, the liquidation levels on the shorts are far away. The XRP short liquidates near $3.22, more than double the current price. The HYPE short has a liquidation line at $262, and the ETH short at $8,381. Those levels look extreme because the positions are small relative to equity and margin risk spreads across the whole portfolio.

The longs show no liquidation price at all, which is typical for cross-margin books where equity is shared. The practical takeaway: this whale can hold through a 10-15% adverse move without forced selling. The risk is not a sudden liquidation cascade, but a slow bleed that eats into the $4.55M of realized profit if SOL and XRP keep drifting against the book.

The interesting test comes at SOL's entry zone. If SOL reclaims $102, the book flips green quickly because the 20x leverage multiplies the recovery. If SOL keeps sliding, the whale faces a choice between cutting the largest position or watching the unrealized loss approach the recent realized gain. For followers of Hyperliquid smart money, a top win-rate account sitting visibly underwater is rare; how it exits the SOL long will matter more than the win rate.
