WLD Drops 5.9% to $0.392: Longs Paid 84%, OI -6.3%

WLD slides 5.9% as spot gives back the AI-token rally

Worldcoin's WLD traded at $0.392 late Wednesday, down 5.9% in 24 hours, with Binance and OKX both showing the same decline. The pullback erases part of the artificial-intelligence token bounce from earlier this week: WLD hit $0.4176 on Binance before sellers took over, and the coin now sits roughly 6% below that high. The drop comes as the broader market cools, with BTC itself off 2.2% at $78,900.

Leverage is coming out: OI falls to $259M

Open interest across venues slipped 6.3% to $259.5M, a clear sign that long positions built during the rally are being closed rather than defended. Binance led the unwind with OI down 7.3% to $64M, Bybit shed 7.6% to $50M, and OKX eased 3.8%. Only smaller venues added exposure: Aster OI jumped 43.7% and Coinex rose 19.7%, both from a tiny base. The concentration of the exit on major exchanges suggests retail leverage, not institutions, is doing the selling.

Longs paid 84% of liquidations

Liquidation data shows longs absorbed 84% of the damage over 24 hours, with $1.54M in long liquidations versus just $0.3M for shorts. That pattern is typical of a crowded long flush: traders who bought the AI narrative near the high were forced out as price slid. Funding on Binance and OKX has turned slightly negative or flat, which means the remaining book is no longer paying a premium for longs — momentum has cooled.

Context: this is a round-trip, not a trend break

WLD's move matters because it reverses the exact setup that drew longs in. Earlier this week the token outperformed with OI climbing alongside price, a textbook confirmation of fresh leverage entering. Now both are falling together, and that sync means the trade is unwinding in an orderly way rather than hitting a sudden liquidation cascade. The 24-hour range on Binance spans $0.375 to $0.4176, and price is sitting in the lower third of that band — sellers remain in control for now.

What to watch

The key question is whether $0.375 (the 24h low on Binance) holds. If OI keeps falling while price stabilizes, the flush is mostly done and the residual book is cleaner. If price breaks below that level with volume, the next support is thinner. WLD's funding is now near zero on most venues, so there is little cost to holding either side; direction will come from BTC's broader tone rather than WLD-specific flows. For traders, the useful signal is the OI read: until open interest stops shrinking, any bounce should be treated as a short-covering rally, not a new long trend.
