AKE -10.9%: OI Sheds 11% to $70M, MEXC Buys the Dip

90% Range, Then an 11% Slide

AKE changed hands near $0.00765 on major exchanges at press time, down 10.9% over 24 hours after a swing that covered a wide band. The token printed a 24-hour low around $0.00486 and a high near $0.00935, so the window moved roughly 90% between extremes. The current level sits closer to the middle of that range, and the decline has been steady rather than a single dump.

Open Interest Drops 11% as Venues Trim

Total open interest fell about 11% to $70.2 million over the day. Binance, the largest venue with 39% of the book, cut its positions by 11.8% to $27.8 million. KuCoin trimmed 19.1% and Bybit reduced 12.6%, while Gate shed 15%. The four-hour change is still negative on Binance, so the unwind has not stopped. This looks like leverage leaving the market after a volatility spike, not a panic exit: the AKE book is still $70 million, larger than most small caps in the sector.

MEXC Builds Against the Crowd

One venue moved the other way. MEXC added 13.8% to its AKE open interest, taking the book to about $7.3 million, and its four-hour change is plus 21%. A smaller exchange, aster, also grew more than 50% from a low base. When price falls and most platforms cut exposure while one or two add, two readings are possible: someone sees value, or someone is picking up crowded short positions. The funding data leans toward the second story.

Longs Paid 80% of Liquidations

Liquidations over 24 hours came to about $1.25 million for AKE, with longs accounting for $1 million, or 80%. Shorts were barely touched at $246,000. That pattern matches a move where leveraged buyers who chased the earlier pump got cleared out while sellers collected. With more than 1,000 liquidation events, the book is active, but the dollar damage is small next to majors like ETH or BTC.

Funding Near Zero: No One Is Paid to Lean

Funding rates sit close to zero after the flush. Binance shows about 0.005% per interval and Bybit is slightly negative near -0.005%. When funding is this flat after a 90% range, neither side has built a crowded position. The read is that AKE's correction is an over-leveraged reset rather than the start of a new trend. Watch MEXC's counter-trend book in the next sessions; if it keeps growing while price drifts, the short side may be the one under pressure later.
