APT +8.2% to $0.56: Binance OI +13%, Funding Stays Negative

APT Bounces From $0.5167 as the Market Steadies
Aptos (APT) climbed back to $0.5606 in the last 24 hours, up 8.2% from a low of $0.5167 on Binance. OKX shows the same picture at $0.5594 with a 7.9% gain. The move comes as BTC holds around $78,300 and ETH trades near $2,452, so this is not the whole market dragging altcoins higher. Aptos is moving on its own.
The interesting part sits underneath the price. Total open interest across major venues is $82.2 million, and it is growing at a measured pace rather than exploding.
Binance Leads the OI Rebuild, Not a Leverage Blowout
Binance now carries $19.3 million of the open interest, about 23.5% of the total, and that figure is up 13% over 24 hours and 7.8% in the last 4 hours. Bybit is close behind at $17.8 million with a 7.3% gain. OKX added 4.4%, Bitget 10.1%.
None of these moves look like a leveraged squeeze. In a true short squeeze, funding flips strongly positive and liquidations spike. Here, 24-hour APT liquidations do not even rank in the top coins on the network, and the funding picture points the other way.
Funding Still Negative: Shorts Paying, Crowd Not Long Yet
Perpetual funding is negative across most venues for this token. Binance shows -0.0026%, OKX -0.0048%, Bybit -0.006%, and Hyperliquid is flat at +0.0007%. Negative funding while the price rises means short positions are paying to stay open, but the amounts are small. Nobody is crowding into leveraged longs at these levels.
That combination, price up with cold funding, usually describes spot-led buying. Traders are accumulating the token without the leverage that typically marks the top of a move.
What to Watch Next
The setup still needs confirmation. If the price holds above $0.55 and OI keeps climbing while funding turns positive, that would signal leverage joining the rally and a stronger trend. If funding stays negative and OI stalls, the rebound could fade as quietly as it started.
The risk sits on the downside: OI at $82 million is thin compared to majors, so a flush in BTC could liquidate a concentrated book quickly. For now, the data says fresh accumulation, not a squeeze, and that is a healthier base for a continuation.
