BNB Steady at $707: OI Up 2.2%, Liq Sinks to $0.7M

BNB Trades Flat While the Rest of Crypto Swings
BNB is doing the opposite of the rest of the market right now. At the time of this snapshot the token sits at $707 on Binance, up about 1.1% over 24 hours, and OKX shows $706.80, basically the same level. During a day when BTC swung from $80,900 to $77,500 and total crypto liquidations reached $431 million, this coin barely moved.
Open Interest Edges Up, But Nobody Is Piling In
Futures open interest for BNB stands at $921 million, up 2.17% in 24 hours. Binance still dominates with a 48% share at $442 million, and OKX added 2.16% while Bybit stayed flat. The growth is steady, not explosive. Four-hour changes are slightly negative on most venues, which suggests traders are adding slowly rather than chasing momentum. The one exception is Bitget, which lifted its position 2.1% over 24 hours, a small sign that some flow is rotating between exchanges.
Liquidations Dried Up: $0.7M in a $431M Market
The token's 24-hour liquidations total just $710,000 across 285 orders, split almost evenly between longs at $280K and shorts at $431K. Compare that with the broader market's $431 million in 24-hour liquidations, where shorts paid $272.7 million. During the sharp BTC push to $80,900 earlier, BNB holders simply did not have the leverage exposure to get wiped out.
Funding Near Zero Means No Crowd on Either Side
Funding rates across Binance, OKX and Bybit sit at 0.0036% to 0.01%, essentially neutral. No one is paying a premium to hold longs, and shorts are not being charged to stay short. This is the signature of a market where both sides are comfortable, and it explains why BNB has avoided both squeeze rallies and cascade dumps this week.
What this means for traders: the coin is behaving like a spot-driven asset right now, with derivatives activity staying quiet. If the broader market keeps its volatility, its low leverage makes it a relatively safer hold, but it also means a breakout would need fresh spot volume, not just futures positioning.
