BR +40% to $0.319: OI Jumps 31%, Binance OI +77%

BR spikes 40% while most of the market grinds higher
BR is up 40% to $0.319 in the last 24 hours, one of the strongest moves among mid-cap perps on Friday morning. The token bottomed at $0.226 before buyers stepped in, and the rebound has been accelerating since. Bybit and Gate show the same picture at roughly $0.319, with 24-hour change between 39.9% and 40.5%, so the move is not an artifact of one thin order book. The question now is whether fresh leverage will keep the rally alive or whether longs are already crowded at these levels.
Open interest climbs 31% and Binance does most of the work
Open interest across the seven venues that list BR perps rose 31.1% to $29.3M. Binance holds the largest share at 47.3% and its OI jumped 76.6% in 24 hours, adding roughly $6M of new notional. Bybit OI doubled with a 100% gain, and Bitget added 73.1%. That pattern, price and OI moving up together, points to new longs entering rather than a pure short squeeze where OI usually drops as shorts close. MEXC is the one outlier: its OI fell 21.9% even as price rallied, which suggests some traders there took profit into strength while Binance-side participants added exposure.
Funding is mildly positive, nowhere near overheating
Weighted funding sits at 0.0164% per 8 hours, roughly 0.05% annualized when compounded, which is calm for a coin that just moved 40%. Binance charges 0.016% and Bybit 0.04%, both within normal bands. When a squeeze is extended, funding usually flips strongly positive and the next funding payment becomes a drag on longs. That has not happened here, so the rally is not yet a classic crowded-long setup. The risk cuts the other way too: with 31% more OI, any sharp reversal will hit the new longs first, and liquidation levels below $0.28 could cascade if BTC rolls over.
What to watch next
The useful signal is the Binance-MEXC split. If Binance OI keeps climbing while MEXC keeps cutting, the rally has sponsorship from the deepest book and dips may be bought. If OI starts falling while price stays flat, that means longs are taking profit and the move is losing fuel. BR is a small-cap perp with roughly $166M of 24-hour volume across venues, so expect wide swings either way; position sizing matters more than direction calls here.
