LDO +8.7% to $0.396: OI +9.1% to $64.7M, Funding Flat

LDO climbs with the market, and leverage is coming back

LDO is trading at $0.396 at the time of this snapshot, up 8.7% in 24 hours. Binance quotes $0.3959 with a 24-hour range of $0.3611 to $0.4050, and OKX shows the same picture at $0.3955, high $0.4048, low $0.3612. The move is part of the broader altcoin bid that has pushed BTC back above $81,000, but LDO is outperforming most layer-1 and DeFi names today.

What stands out is the positioning behind the rally. Total open interest across exchanges sits at $64.7M, up 9.1% in 24 hours. That is new leverage entering the market, not just spot buying lifting the price.

Binance leads the OI build while smaller venues stay quiet

Binance holds 27.1% of LDO open interest at $17.56M, and its OI is up 13.8% in 24 hours with a 4-hour gain of 4.2%. Bybit and Hyperliquid follow with $13.87M and $10.88M respectively, both adding roughly 7% on the day. MEXC, which still carries $5.63M, is basically flat, a sign that the build is concentrated on the top venues rather than spread across speculative listings.

The 4-hour flow matters here. Unlike the hot squeeze plays from yesterday, LDO's OI kept growing through the last four hours while the price held. That points to positions being opened with conviction, not a short spike that gets closed an hour later.

Funding at 0.01%: longs are paying almost nothing to stay

Funding rates across Binance, OKX and Bybit sit at 0.01% per 8 hours, and Hyperliquid shows 0.0000125. That is a neutral reading. In a normal short squeeze, funding would flip strongly positive as leveraged longs pile in. Here, traders are not being charged extra to hold, which suggests the OI increase is more balanced than a one-way bet.

The price action backs that up. LDO gapped from the $0.36 area to an intraday high of $0.4050, but it has not run away to the upside like the meme coins did earlier this week. The measured pace, combined with cold funding, reads as accumulation rather than a leveraged blow-off.

What to watch next

Two things decide whether this move continues. First, whether OI keeps climbing while BTC stays above $80,000; a drop in OI with the price rising would mean the rally is running on spot alone. Second, funding. If it pushes toward 0.05% or higher, the trade gets crowded and a flush becomes more likely. For now, longs are paying near zero to hold, and the market is not forcing anyone out.
