BTR -59% Off Peak: OI Sheds 12%, MEXC Adds 190%

BTR went from hero to zero in under 24 hours. The token peaked near $0.2195 on Binance and now trades at $0.0898, a 59% round trip that erased most of last week's 174% squeeze. The crash came with real deleveraging: total open interest fell 12% to $42.6 million as leveraged longs got flushed.
BTR's round trip: from $0.22 peak to $0.09
BTR's 24-hour range is the widest among active derivatives this week. Binance prints a high of $0.21946 and a low of $0.07956, a 176% swing between extremes. Spot volume stayed heavy through the fall, with Binance alone clearing $888 million in the last day. The move looks like a pump-and-flush: the squeeze carried the price up 174%, then longs ran for the exit and the bid collapsed.
At the current $0.0898, BTR is down 7.3% on the day and 59% off its 24-hour peak. The same price prints across Binance, Bybit and Gate, so this is broad selling, not one illiquid venue dragging the quote.
Leverage is coming out of the book
Open interest across the main venues dropped 12.1% in 24 hours to $42.6 million. Binance, the largest venue at 36.9% share, cut 21.5%. Aster was the most aggressive, slashing 81.9% of its positions. Bybit held roughly flat and KuCoin actually added 5.2%.
Liquidations tell a two-sided story: longs lost $2.12 million and shorts lost $2.51 million in the same window. A falling coin that still burns shorts shows how choppy the tape is. 5,613 positions were closed in 24 hours, a huge count for a small-cap token, meaning retail was heavily involved on both sides.
MEXC is the contrarian buyer
The outlier is MEXC. Its open interest jumped 190% to $8.48 million, pushing share to 19.9%, close to Binance's 36.9%. That is fresh leverage added into a falling market, not position rollover. It can mean dip-buyers are stepping in with margin, or that some accounts are averaging down aggressively. Either way it is the opposite of what every other venue did.
Funding says nobody is crowded
Funding rates across venues are close to zero: Binance, Bybit and OKX all sit near 0.005%, and only Gate shows 0.04%. That is neutral territory. No side is paying a heavy premium to stay in the trade, which cuts both ways: there is no squeeze fuel from a crowded short book, and no panic premium from desperate longs either.
The takeaway: BTR is a high-volatility token in the middle of a leverage reset. The 59% drawdown flushed the late longs, but MEXC's 190% OI build means new leverage is already arriving. Until funding moves off zero, the path is likely to stay two-way and wide.
