CRV +9% to $0.386: OI Hits $119M, Funding Flips Positive

CRV Climbs 9% as Leverage Flows Back In

CRV is trading at $0.3862 on Binance, up 8.9% in 24 hours, with OKX showing $0.3863 and +9.1%. The gain puts the token right at the top of its 24-hour range of $0.347 to $0.386, after a slide that tested lows near $0.347 earlier in the session. The more telling change is on the derivatives side: total open interest across CRV perps has risen 12.7% to $119.2 million, so this rally is being carried by fresh leverage rather than a short-squeeze unwind.

Who Is Adding Positions Fastest

Bybit still holds the largest single slice of CRV open interest at $27.7 million, but the fastest growth is elsewhere. Hyperliquid OI is up 18.5% over 24 hours to $19.6 million and another 12.5% in the past four hours alone. KuCoin added 19.4% and OKX 16.2%, while MEXC shows 14.5% growth on the day with the strongest four-hour pace at 17.4%. Binance, the second-largest venue at $26.7 million, is expanding more slowly at 8.8% but is still net positive. Four-hour flows are up on every major venue tracked, which points to new positions being opened rather than old ones rolled over.

Funding Turns Positive: Longs Now Pay

Funding rates have shifted to uniformly positive across the main exchanges. Binance, OKX, Bybit, Gate and MEXC all show rates near 0.01% per interval, with Hyperliquid lower at roughly 0.001%. That marks a change from most of the past week, when CRV funding sat close to zero or slightly negative and shorts were paid to hold. Positive funding means the marginal buyer is now a leveraged long, and that crowding leans the same way price has already moved. That can extend a trend, but it also removes the cushion flat funding provides when price pulls back.

What to Watch in the Next Session

CRV is a DeFi governance token and its perp market is small enough that open interest swings of this size carry more weight than they would for a major. The near-term tell is whether OI keeps climbing if price stalls near $0.387. Rising open interest on a flat tape would mean late longs building into resistance; falling OI on a push higher would signal profit-taking by the same leveraged crowd that fueled the move. Spot volume remains the anchor, but with funding flipped positive, the next leg in either direction is likely to be amplified by leverage.
