DOT Rallies 4.4% to $0.873: OI +7.1% to $113M

DOT Is Rallying With Real Volume Behind It

DOT climbed 4.4% to $0.873 in the last 24 hours, and this one is not a short squeeze. Binance shows the pair at $0.8733 with a 24-hour range of $0.8357 to $0.8811, while OKX prints $0.8734 with a low of $0.8367. Both exchanges agree within a fraction of a cent, which rules out any single-venue distortion. The move comes on a day when most majors are red, so DOT is outperforming the tape by a wide margin.

Open Interest Adds 7.1% as Leverage Comes Back

Total open interest across 18 venues reached $113.3M, up 7.1% in 24 hours. Binance leads with $28.5M, a 25.1% share, and its OI is up 6.9%. OKX added 7.9% to $7M, Bybit grew 6.9% to $16.5M, and Bitget holds $17M after a 6.8% gain. The build is broad, not concentrated in one exchange, which points to fresh positioning rather than a single whale pushing the tape.

Funding Stays Cold, So This Is Not Crowded Leverage

Despite the price gain, funding rates are quiet. Binance prints 0.0013% and OKX 0.01%, with the volume-weighted average near 0.0049%. Perpetual holders are paying almost nothing to stay long, which means leverage is not yet expensive. That is the opposite of what you see before a crowded long squeeze. If DOT keeps climbing, this cold funding leaves room for more longs to enter without the cost structure flipping against them.

What This Means for Traders

The combination of a rising price, growing OI, and near-zero funding is a constructive setup. DOT is not overextended by funding standards, and open interest confirms the move has participants behind it. The risk sits in the 4-hour picture: Bitget OI dipped 0.6% and Gate is flat, so the build is not perfectly synchronized. If Binance and OKX start cutting OI while price holds, that would signal distribution. Watch whether funding turns clearly positive, because that would mark the point where the market starts paying for the rally.
