MAGMA Crashes 42% to $0.234: OI Sheds 32%, MEXC Adds

MAGMA Reverses Hard From $0.424
MAGMA traded at $0.234 on Binance at the time of writing, down 42.3% over 24 hours after printing a session high of $0.424. The pullback erases most of the run that started on September 2, when the token was still changing hands near $0.19 before open interest began climbing. Every tracked venue shows the same tape: Bybit at $0.2343, Gate at $0.2342, KuCoin at $0.2342. The low so far sits at $0.2249, so price has stabilized slightly off the bottom rather than making a new leg down.
Open Interest Sheds 31.6% to $21.4M
Total open interest fell 31.6% in 24 hours to $21.4 million, which reads as leveraged longs closing rather than a slow bleed. Binance led the exit with OI down 41% to $6.43M, Bitget cut 39.2% to $2.57M, and Aster dropped 42.2%. But the split is not uniform. MEXC actually added OI, down only 12.4% on the day and up 8.3% over the last four hours to $6.74M, which makes it the largest single venue at 31.4% of total OI, ahead of Binance at 30%. Bybit also rebuilt exposure in the last four hours, up 10.8%. That divergence matters: the aggressive unwind is concentrated on the bigger perp books while smaller venues are still holding or adding positions.
Funding Never Got Hot
Funding across venues sits at 0.005% per funding window, with Binance, Bybit, Gate and KuCoin all showing the same rate. Average funding is 0.0046% and the OI-weighted rate is 0.0048%. A move of this size usually leaves funding stretched in one direction, and its absence here suggests the September 2 rally was driven by spot buyers and cash-backed perp entries rather than crowded leverage. With funding near zero, there is no obvious pressure point forcing either side to close, which makes the 31.6% OI drop look more like voluntary deleveraging than a cascade.
What to Watch Next
The key signal now is whether MEXC keeps adding while Binance keeps trimming. If the two largest books are moving in opposite directions, the next directional move could be sharp when one side finally capitulates. Volume is still heavy at roughly $86.9M over 24 hours on Binance alone, so interest has not dried up. A reclaim of $0.30 would put price back above the midpoint of today's range; a break below $0.2249 opens room toward the September 2 base near $0.19. Funding should be the tell for which path leverage is betting on.
