PROM Reversal: The $5.56 Peak That Did Not Hold

PROM is trading near $4.80 on Binance, down 11.5% over 24 hours after printing a $5.56 high earlier in the window. That is a 13.7% round trip off the peak. The pullback is not a coin-specific failure: BTC is hovering around $77,500 and down about 1.7% on the day, while aggregate 24-hour liquidations have climbed past $308 million with longs paying roughly 82% of that bill. the token is moving with a risk-off tape, but the speed of the reversal stands out because the perp had just completed a +24% short-covering run late last week.

Open Interest Sheds 11.5% as Smaller Venues Cut Fastest

Total open interest on PROM perpetuals sits at $28.4 million, down 11.5% in 24 hours. Binance still carries the largest book with a 62.8% share, but its own OI is off 9.0% on the day and another 3.3% in the past four hours, so the unwind is ongoing rather than finished. The sharper cuts show up on smaller venues: KuCoin is down 21.4% and MEXC 22.9%. That broad-based pattern across exchanges points to position exit rather than a one-venue event.

Funding Never Got Hot, So This Reads as Orderly Unwind

Funding on PROM stays close to zero. Binance prints 0.005% per eight hours, the volume-weighted average is around 0.005%, and KuCoin is slightly negative. During the +24% squeeze last week, funding never turned strongly positive, which suggests the rally was driven by short covering and spot buying instead of fresh leveraged longs. Today's slide fits that story: OI is falling while funding stays calm, the signature of traders closing positions on both sides. Late longs who chased the $5.50s are underwater, but there is no panic-flush pattern in the OI path.

What to Watch: $4.65 Support and the $5.00 Reclaim

The 24-hour low on Binance sits at $4.651, and that level is the near-term line in the sand. A daily close below it would open the door to a deeper unwind toward the pre-squeeze zone. If buyers step in instead and push the price back above $5.00 to $5.10, the pullback looks like a shakeout. Watch the Binance book, since it holds roughly 63% of all open interest; moves there will set the tone. Leverage traders should also keep an eye on funding, because a real flush would show up as a rate spike first.
