TAC Up 40% on Binance, OI Follows at +69%

TAC is the quiet mover of this session. The token trades at $0.0024 on Binance, up 40.4% in 24 hours, and the rally is being paid for with fresh contracts. Total open interest rose 68.7% to $13.7 million, one of the fastest builds on the board while most majors churn sideways. The 24-hour range on Binance ran from $0.001663 to $0.002787, so the move has already retraced part of its early spike and is holding near the upper half of that band.

Binance and KuCoin Carry the Build

The OI increase is not spread evenly. Binance now holds $5.4 million of TAC contracts, a 90.7% jump in 24 hours, and its share of total open interest sits at 39.4%. KuCoin is close behind at $5.3 million, up 54.9%, holding 38.7%. Bybit added $1.9 million, up 76.7%, while MEXC rose only 13.8%. Two venues carrying the bulk of the build matters: when a rally is driven by one or two exchanges, a liquidity event on either platform moves the whole tape, and the recent 4-hour change already shows Binance trimming 5.2% while KuCoin shed 12.9%.

Funding at 0.038%: Elevated, Not Out of Control

Funding on Binance reads 0.038% for TAC's 4-hour interval, with Bybit at 0.0287% and Gate at 0.0299%. The volume-weighted average sits near 0.0236%. That is a hot print for a small cap, roughly equivalent to a 0.23% daily carry for longs, but it is not the 0.1%-plus blowoff seen in the worst meme squeezes. The funding curve is the tell here: rates climbed as price ran, which means longs are paying to stay in rather than short sellers getting pinned. That is the opposite signature of a short squeeze.

No Liquidation Footprint: New Money, Not a Squeeze

TAC does not appear on the 24-hour liquidation leaderboard at all, where the smallest listed coin sits near $0.8 million. No short-covering cascade, no outsized single wipe. The move is being driven by new position entry, not by forced covering of an existing crowded short. That makes this structurally different from the ZEC or STX squeezes of the past week, where funding spiked alongside a liquidation wall. The risk profile is therefore a crowded-long one: if price stalls, the same fresh leverage that powered the rally can unwind quickly on the downside.

What to Watch

Two levels matter. A sustained break above $0.002787, the 24-hour high, with OI still climbing would extend the move; a funding spike toward 0.05% plus a first appearance on the liquidation board would signal the crowd is too one-sided. For now the setup is a leveraged rally with a clean ledger: OI up 69%, funding hot but controlled, and no forced sellers in the tape.
