How to read a liquidation leaderboard
Raw USD totals are a measure of position size, not of severity. A large-cap coin showing $245M in liquidations may have moved only a few percent, while a smaller name with a tenth of that figure could have dropped 15%. The more revealing comparison is the ratio of liquidations to open interest: that tells you what share of a coin's leverage was cleared, which is the number that actually predicts how much fuel has been removed from the move.
