TRX +1.4% as Market Bleeds: OI Steady at $236M

TRX Rides Out the Red Tape
TRX is one of the few majors trading green this morning. The token sits at $0.342, up 1.4% over 24 hours, while BTC slides 3.3% to $77,400 and most of the altcoin board bleeds between 4% and 8%.
Binance prints $0.34196 with a 1.39% gain and OKX $0.34201 with 1.44%, so the move is confirmed on both major venues. The 24-hour band is tight: $0.337 low to $0.342 high, roughly 1.4% of range. Compare that with SOL, which swung 8% in the same window, or BCH, which lost 7.9%. Volume on the pair stays healthy at $58.8M on Binance and $16.9M on OKX, but nothing about the tape suggests a leveraged chase.
Open Interest Holds While Elsewhere It Unwinds
Total open interest for the coin comes to $235.9M, down a marginal 0.28% in 24 hours. Flat. The contrast with the rest of the market matters: the broad tape is going through a deleveraging cycle today, and most names are shedding contracts. Here the picture splits by venue. Binance added 1.7%, Bybit 1.6%, Bitget 9.2%, WhiteBIT 1.4%. On the other side, MEXC cut 14.9%, Hyperliquid 4.6%, KuCoin 3.5%. Money is rotating rather than leaving.
Funding Stays Mildly Positive
OI-weighted funding sits at 0.0093% per interval, with most venues at 0.01% and Hyperliquid at 0.0013%. Longs pay a small fee to hold, which is normal and cheap. There is no squeeze fuel here: positive funding with a flat price usually means neutral positioning, not crowded longs. Nothing in the rates suggests traders are about to get run over.
Liquidations Stay Quiet for the Coin
The liquidation table tells the same story. TRX does not appear in the top ten by coin; the damage today is concentrated in BTC at $205.6M, ETH at $128.9M and SOL at $34.6M. The whole market wiped $498M in 24 hours, 76.3% of it longs, as the pullback from the $80K retest hit leverage built over the past two days. The coin's own liquidation footprint is close to noise.
What does this add up to? A divergence like this usually resolves one of two ways. Either the coin is a laggard that gets sold once the tape stabilizes, or it is genuine relative strength backed by spot accumulation. The flat OI, the positive funding and the venue rotation all point to the second reading. With leverage low, expect a slow grind rather than a short squeeze, and watch whether the OI starts to climb while the price holds above $0.34.
