Worldcoin WLD: $508.4M OI Masks a 68.6% Long Bias

Worldcoin futures are sending a divided signal at $0.5455: aggregate open interest reached $508.4M, up 2.2% over 24 hours, while the largest venues are moving in opposite directions. Binance still holds 21.3% of open interest but cut its position by 1.2%, whereas Bybit holds 17.7% and expanded exposure by 7.9%. That is the core positioning divergence: the market is adding risk overall, but not evenly across venues.

A market note describes momentum as flat while open interest has declined, but the current derivatives snapshot instead shows aggregate open interest increasing. The contradiction makes venue-level data more important than a single directional headline.

Open interest is rotating, not simply rising

Binance has $108.1M in open interest, followed by Bybit at $89.9M, Gate at $53.1M and OKX at $40.0M. The top four venues therefore account for the main liquidity pool, but their short-term behavior is sharply different. Binance lost 2.2% over four hours and 1.2% over 24 hours. OKX also contracted by 1.5% over four hours and 0.4% over 24 hours. Bybit moved the other way, adding 1.1% over four hours and 7.9% over 24 hours.

Gate is the clearest source of short-term reduction, with open interest down 4.9% over four hours and 1.5% over 24 hours. The result is not a clean deleveraging pattern. It is a transfer of participation toward Bybit while several other large venues reduce risk, leaving the headline total positive but the internal structure unstable.

Accounts lean long, active flow is less uniform

The account-level long/short ratio shows 68.6% of accounts long, a substantial bullish skew. Bybit is the most crowded at 72.8% long, while Gate is at 72.1%; Binance and OKX are less extreme but still show 64.6% and 64.5% long, respectively. On the surface, this creates a clear long-side consensus.

Active trading tells a more fragmented story. Binance takers are only 28.5% long and 71.5% short, while OKX takers are 45.2% long and 54.8% short. Gate is the exception, with 71.3% of taker flow long. The aggregate taker long share is 62.0%, below the account long share. This gap suggests many traders are positioned long, but the most immediate execution flow is not uniformly adding to those longs. Binance, the largest open-interest venue, is particularly important because its aggressive flow is net short even while its account base remains net long.

Liquidations confirm pressure on longs

Liquidation data reinforces the split. In the latest hour, $94.6K of long positions were liquidated and no short liquidations were recorded. Across four hours, long liquidations reached $150.9K versus only $2.8K for shorts. The twelve-hour imbalance is also pronounced, with $219.8K in longs liquidated against $39.3K in shorts.

The full-day picture is more balanced but still slightly heavier on the long side: $758.1K of long liquidations versus $628.6K of short liquidations, for a total of $1.4M. The largest recorded events were long liquidations near $0.5403 and $0.5408, while another large long liquidation appeared at $0.5531. This range maps the immediate stress zone for crowded bullish positioning.

Verdict: WLD has a constructive aggregate OI signal but a fragile positioning structure. The key downside reference is $0.5403, with the current $508.4M OI level vulnerable if long liquidations accelerate below that area. A recovery through $0.5531 accompanied by further OI expansion would invalidate the bearish-leaning divergence view and confirm that Bybit-led participation is broadening rather than merely replacing exposure elsewhere.
